It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to our website. I believe that this website will provide you with detailed information about who we are, what we do, how we do it; and why we do it.

I trust that as you understand our vision for the destitute children of one of Nairobi’s poorest slums, you will be encouraged to make a connection with us and perhaps even choose to partner with us in this very noble cause.

The children under our care comprise of orphans and others who, although they have one or both parents, those parents are themselves so poor as to be able to take care of them. In such cases the children are left to fend for themselves, roaming in the streets and pillaging in garbage heaps as they strive to look for morsels of food. Their search for food is therefore a never-ending and almost always unsuccessful struggle.

At Tumaini Centre, these children not only find a place where they can get at least one meal a day, but they also find volunteer teachers who are willing to forego their right for a salary so as to help these little angels get some elementary education.

I believe that through your help, and that of so many that have assisted in the past, we can, as our name suggests, inject hope into the lives of these children. The bible in Psalms 127: 3 says that children are a heritage to us. God has entrusted to us the care and the responsibility of nurturing these children into responsible adults. We must not abdicate our responsibility.

Tumaini Children Centre is located in Sinai, off Outering Road in Nairobi’s Industrial area, Embakasi, Kenya. We are surrounded by numerous slums dwellings. At the Centre, the children are fed, educated, clothed and inspired through Bible and prayer sessions. I would like to thank our friends, sponsors and volunteers who have assisted us in transforming the lives of these children. May God reward you according to His riches in glory.
